Music From Ryan Smithson
Beginning with drums as a teenager, and then learning to play guitar while deployed to Iraq, Ryan has always enjoyed making music. As one of his creative outlets, playing guitar has taken on a bigger role in his life since the pandemic and his divorce. As with his art, playing and performing music has become a source of in-the-moment joy, mental processing, and self-discovery. Plus it’s just good ol’ fashioned, toe tappin’ fun!
Ryan is self-taught, plays by ear, and performs acoustic covers from the Beatles to Mumford & Sons, Johnny Cash to Sublime. He takes requests (knows maybe half of them) and can play a crowd. As a father of two, he’s also well-versed in Disney and kids songs.
